Make A Scene Improv Team:
Mike Weaver is an improv veteran who has trained at The Upright Citizens Brigade in New York, Bay Area Theater Sports in San Francisco, Cinublue Productions in Columbus and with Armando Diaz, Keith Johnstone and many others. Mike performs regularly with Easily Amused Improv in Columbus and as a guest performer at The Black Box Improv Theater in Dayton. He is also a contributing consultant of the Applied Improvisation Network, a worldwide network of improvisers and instructors.
Andy Batt has been performing and coaching improv for over 15 years. He attended Second City Cleveland and trained under Chris Lane, founder of Columbus improv troupe Full Frontal Nudity (FFN). For over 10 years Andy coached FFN, the longest standing troupe in Central Ohio. In addition to being an improvisational artist, Andy is also an accomplished actor, writer, director and served as MadLab Theatre’s Managing Director from 2002-2012 as well as its Artistic Director from 2012-2015.
Alex Lefeld is an acting and improv veteran who has trained at Second City TC in Chicago, SAK Comedy in Orlando, and Co-Founded Fishbowl Improv at Ohio State University. Alex performs improv regularly with Fake Bacon and Veto in Columbus. Alex graduated with a BA in Theatre from OSU with specialized training in acting, movement, voice and improv. Alex is also an award winning actor whose acting students have gone on to sign with acting agencies in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City.
Brad Shimp is an improviser, producer, and teacher who began improv with Cinublue Productions in Columbus, with Chris Lane, and notable improv greats Susan Messing, Michael Gellman, Tara DeFransico, Rance Rizzuto and many others. He is currently producing Tuesday Night Improv (TNI) at MadLab Theatre under the Make A Scene Improv banner. Brad performs regularly in Columbus as a two person duo, Harold & Suzanne, and with the Make A Scene Players, an ensemble that performs regularly at TNI and other venues. During the fall semester he teaches middle school student improv at Village Academy in Powell. Brad and the Make a Scene team have done corporate team building workshops with clients as diverse at K-Force Recruiting, the Columbus College of Art & Design, The Society of Women Engineers, the German Geological Society, and various schools. Brad serves on the MadLab Theatre Board and the Ann Sherry Foundation Board, which he co-founded. In his previous life Brad was the President/CEO of Community Capital Development Corporation where he helped growing businesses to purchase real estate and equipment. Brad founded Make A Scene Improv in March 2015 to help grow the improv community in Columbus.
